When the unit is in the TRY ME mode, it only will work
if you press the gold button located in the center bottom
on the front of the frame. To “activate” the motion
sensor, move the switch on the back of the frame to the
ON position. The Talking Portrait can detect motion
within a range of four feet in front of the frame. When
an unwanted guest tries to enter into the room, she will
respond by saying phrases, like “Sorry, no password, no
entry,” or “I see you,” to scare them off! The Talking
Portrait will say three phrases in a row and then “SLEEP”
for 30 seconds before she will detect movement and can
be activated again. If you press the gold button during
this 30-second SLEEP time, the system will wake up
and say three phrases and pause again for another 30-
second interval. When the alarm is in the ON position,
you can also press the gold button located in the center
bottom on the front of the frame to make her talk at
your command. While she is talking her mouth and eyes
move and the stars twinkle in the background.
