- Mix 2 cupfuls of vinegar with 2 cupfuls
of water.
BEFORE FIRST USE
Operate the coffee-maker twice using
water only to rinse the appliance through.
- Pour the cold descaling solution into the
water tank.
- Place a paper filter (or permanent filter)
in the filter-holder.
MAKING COFFEE
- Position the jug equipped with its lid.
- Start up the coffee-maker.
- Stop the appliance once half the solu-
tion has run through and leave for an
hour.
- Start up the coffee-maker again and let
the solution run through.
- After descaling, the appliance must be
rinsed at least 2 or 3 times with fresh
water to rinse out the appliance. The
guarantee does not cover scaling of cof-
fee-makers.

- Use cold water only. You can remove
the water tank to fill it directly under the
tap.
- Do not use the jug without its lid.
- A drip prevention valve means you can
remove the jug during coffee-making.
- The jug is equipped with a removable
impact and heat protective skirt to pro-
tect your work surface from the heat, so
you can place the jug on it.
- The coffee maker is supplied with a per-
manent filter (for UK only). This can be
used instead of a paper filter (shown in
the diagram). Do not use a paper filter
and permanent filter together as this
may cause an overflow of coffee out of
the filter holder..
- Once the coffee has filtered through, we
recommend that you allow it to stand on
the hot plate for 5 minutes before drin-
king.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Before switching on the appliance,
check that your mains voltage corres-
ponds to that printed on the underside `
of the appliance and that your supply
socket includes an earth.
- Keep out of the reach of children.
- Disconnect the appliance every time
you clean it.
- Do not let the supply cord hang free.
- Do not use the appliance if the plug, the
cord or the appliance itself shows signs
of damage.
- Note: cold milk straight from a refrigera-
tor will decrease the temperature of the
coffee.
- If the power supply cable is damaged, it
must be replaced by an authorised ser-
vice centre.
- Only use an extension of suitable rating
and if it is in perfect condition.
CLEANING

- Unplug and leave to cool before clea-
ning. Do not clean the appliance when
it is hot.
- Do not immerse the appliance, plug or
cord in water.
- Once the appliance has cooled down,
you can clean it with a damp cloth.
- You can clean the removable parts in
the dishwasher.
- The jug and its impact and heat protec-
tive skirt are microwave compatible.
- Do not immerse the coffee-maker in
water.
- This appliance complies with the appli-
cable technical rules and standards.
- You cannot open the appliance without
using a special tool. For all repairs,
contact an authorised service centre.

use, inappropriate use or failure to com-

• The cord is already fitted with a plug
incorporating an appropriate fuse. If
the plug does not fit your socket out-
let, see paragraph below. Should
you need to replace the fuse in the
plug supplied an appropriately rated
approved BS 1362 fuse must be
used (refer to wiring instructions spe-
cification for fuse rating). If the plug
supplied does not fit your socket out-
let, it should be removed from the
mains lead and disposed of safety.
The flexible cord insulation should
be stripped back as appropriate and
a suitable alternative plug fitted.

Stolperfalle!
Das Tropfstoppsystem ermöglicht es, die
Kanne während der Kaffeezubereitung
abzunehmen. Die Kanne ist mit einem
abnehmbaren Servierring ausgestattet,
der stoßfest und wärmeisolierend ist. Sie
können die Kanne mit dem Servierring
direkt auf den Tisch stellen.
- Die Kaffeemaschine nicht in Betrieb
nehmen, wenn das Kabel oder das Gerät
selbst sichtbar beschädigt ist.
- Wenn das Kabel beschädigt ist, darf es
ausschließlich vom Hersteller oder einer
der autorisierten Servicestellen ersetzt
werden.
- Verwenden Sie ein Verlängerungskabel
nur dann, wenn es in einwandfreiem
Zustand ist.
REINIGUNG

Tuch abwischen.
Die abnehmbaren Teile können in der
Spülmaschine gereinigt werden.
Die Kanne und der Servierring sind

Spezialwerkzeug geöffnet werden.

ENTKALKUNG
Entkalken Sie Ihre Kaffeemaschine je
nach Gebrauchshäufigkeit ca. einmal im
Monat. Im Handel erhältliche flüssige
bzw. pulverförmige Entkalkungsmittel
sind nach Herstellerangaben zu verwen-
den.
Bei Entkalken mit Essig:
- 2 Tassen Essig mit 2 Tassen kaltem
Wasser vermischen.
- Die kalte Entkalkerlösung in den
Wasserbehälter gießen.
- Eine Filtertüte in den Schwenkfilter ein-
setzen.
- Die Kaffeekanne mit aufgesetztem
Deckel in das Gerät stellen.
- Die Kaffeemaschine einschalten.
- Wenn die Lösung zur Hälfte durchge-
laufen ist, das Gerät ausschalten und
eine Stunde wirken lassen.
